This Painting depicts royal Maharaja procession. It is full of grandeur, color and vigor which is indicative of painting styles from various cents of Rajasthan, India that flourished spanning centuries. Art captures the pomp and show of the Maharaja(king) of Udaipur who along with the subjects and pack animals are ornately dressed and indulging in celebration of sorts in the confines of the City Palace, Udaipur. The Lake Palace, built on an island in Lake Pichola, is shown in the background. The sacred power of an Indian king is expressed most spectacularly in the grand public processions that celebrated royal events and religious festivities.
